Any, acronimo di About New York
è un artista affacciatosi solo recentemente alla street art. Nel suo nome è sotteso l’amore folgorante per la Grande Mela che permea tutte le sue opere, ma anche la volontà di essere “uno qualsiasi”, confuso tra la folla di New York. I suoi volti sono i simboli della grande città. Il suo obiettivo, condividerne la passione.

Diplomatosi all’istituto d’arte Pietro Selvatico, ha frequentato l’Accademia di Belle Arti e la facoltà di Architettura a Venezia.
Ha cominciato a dipingere durante la scuola partecipando ad alcune esposizioni tra cui la Bevilacqua La Masa, sia a Padova che a Venezia e, più recentemente, la manifestazione Super Walls Biennale di street art. La sua tecnica d’esordio è stata l’acquerello, per poi passare alla pittura ad olio frequentando gli atelier di Busan e Galuppo. In seguito è passato all’acrilico, eliminando progressivamente la matericità del colore, fino ad arrivare al carboncino puro. Durante gli anni dell’Accademia ha studiato con Ken Damy ed Ernesto Francalanci, grazie ai quali si è innamorato della fotografia, divenendo in seguito fotografo professionista.
Graduated from the Pietro Selvatico art institute, he attended the Academy of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Architecture in Venice.
He began painting during school by participating in some exhibitions including Bevilacqua La Masa, both in Padua and Venice and, more recently, the Super Walls Biennale street art event. His debut technique was watercolor, before moving on to oil painting by attending the ateliers in Busan and Galuppo. He then moved on to acrylic, gradually eliminating the materiality of color, up to pure charcoal. During the years of the Academy he studied with Ken Damy and Ernesto Francalanci, thanks to whom he fell in love with photography, later becoming a professional photographer.

Di recente, complici anche i continui viaggi a New York, è tornato alla pittura, ripartendo da dove aveva lasciato, ovvero la tecnica del carboncino arricchita, questa volta, da incursioni di colore. Proprio vagabondando per Bushwick, quartiere di Brooklyn divenuto una galleria d’arte a cielo aperto per gli street artist, è stato affascinato dalle opere dei grandi, e in particolare di Kobra. Da qui la decisione di “streetartizzare” i suoi lavori utilizzando la tecnica dello stencil.
Molte opere prendono ispirazione dalle sue stesse foto. Sguardi ampi che abbracciano una città e i suoi simboli prima di essere catturati da un dettaglio e concentrarsi improvvisamente sulle persone e le loro esistenze, raccontate da un momento, un’emozione. Ma è nelle riflessioni fuggevoli e personali che lo sguardo torna a spalancarsi di nuovo, restituendogli una visione più vasta che ora si posa sui temi sociali e civili che fanno di New York lo specchio scintillante del mondo civile.
Recently, also thanks to the constant trips to New York, he returned to painting, starting from where he left off, that is the charcoal technique enriched, this time, by forays of color. Just wandering through Bushwick, a Brooklyn neighborhood that has become an open-air art gallery for street artists, he was fascinated by the works of the greats, and in particular by Kobra. Hence the decision to “streetartize” his works using the stencil technique.
Many works take inspiration from his own photos. Wide gazes that embrace a city and its symbols before being captured by a detail and suddenly focusing on people and their lives, told by a moment, an emotion. But it is in the fleeting and personal reflections that the gaze opens up again, giving it back a broader vision that now rests on the social and civil issues that make New York the glittering mirror of the civilized world.
